Last Sunday, the society held a Chinese New Year celebration for the Malaysians. Although it was two weeks late, it was something that everyone looked forward to. Despite the low number of replies we got of people who are attending the event, it turned out to be one of our successful events. The low number of participants didn't prevent us from having a good time. We had great food (steamboat, fried rice, popiah, tau foo fah), awesome company (even having some Turkish and Hong Kong guests) and entertaining games.
Remember the 'Forbidden Word' game? It made everyone think about what they had to say, as they can't say NO or it's Malay equivalent, TAK/TIDAK. Then we had the charades-like game, where a person from the table has to guess his/her team member's description of a word. The funny acts that they did and the words that came out of their mouth! Jagung (corn) to describe the Petronas Twin Towers? LOL And a contestant flapping his arms to describe tandoori chicken? Golden moment. Lastly, it was the 'camwhoring' game, where everyone gathers in a circle, and passes around a camera that was set on a timer. The person who gets caught on camera when the timer goes off, is out of the circle. While everyone usually poses in front of the camera, this game made everyone avoid it!
