All things Malaysia in faraway UK.

Hello Hello~~
What to do in the weekend?? Why don't you go all the way to KL!!! Well, not really but there's something going on in Kent that will bring you all the way to KL. Don't believe it? Here’s how:
Putting our own Malaysian twist to one of our childhood tales, we are proud to present to you University of Kent Malaysian Society’s Evening With Malaysia 2013: Anastasia.
Follow the determined Anya as she travels to the heart of KL in a journey of self-discovery, along with Dimitri- the conman and loving son with lessons to learn along the way, and Muthu- the buddy they both need to lighten the mood. Meet Rasputin, the bitter ‘bomoh’ twisted by jealousy and his loyal but misguided servant Bartok. Watch the heartbreak of a grandmother who loses the only family member she has left and the theatrics of the mismatched but very much in love couple Aunty Sofia and Pak Mir.

Can’t get enough of Malaysia in one weekend??? There’s another in store for you the next weekend!!!!  Now it’s time to travel back to the PAST and UP NORTH~~~ No more KL but there’s PERAK!!!! No more Kent but towards CARDIFF.

Held in the illustrious St David's Hall, the National Concert Hall of Wales, Festival of Diversity is a massive Malaysian cultural extravaganza, consisting of an original full-length musical, followed by a breathtaking Dikir Barat performance. On her 10th edition, she will dazzle you with “the greatest love story that was never told"
The brave Dato Maharajalela heroically defends his beloved village of Pasir Salak, against the ever-growing threat of colonial oppression. However, the villainous Perak Resident J.W.W Birch is a cunning adversary, determined to suppress the rebellion. Now Maharajalela is faced with the difficult choice of whether to trust the beautiful Petronella. Does she truly love him, or will she betray him to the wicked Resident?

SO that’s TWO doses of everything Malaysian!!!! Get your bags ready and travel. Hope to see you soon. When you’re back in Portsmouth, it’s going to be all hands on Deck because we’re going to be travelling ourselves. Here’s a CLUE!

Nenek, nenek, si bongkok tiga.
Siang mengantuk, malam berjaga.
Mencari cucu dimana berada.
Nenek kahwin dengan anak raja.
